Kırklareli's museum in an 1894 former municipality building, with a nature hall, archaeology from Thrace's mounds and villages, and a village-life ethnography section.
The museum's building was constructed in 1894 as the municipality, in the time of Governor Neşet Pasha and Mayor Hacı Mestan Efendi. Atatürk visited it in 1930. Restoration and display work went on from 1983 until the museum opened on 14 January 1994, and it has served as the Kırklareli Museum directorate since.
It is a two-storey reinforced-concrete building plus basement, divided into three sections. On the entrance level, the Nature Hall exhibits preserved animals that live, or once lived, in the region.
Upstairs you find archaeology and ethnography. Archaeology includes finds from excavations at Babaeski Düğüncülü, Vize Çakıllı and Yündolan Tumulus, and pieces from Vize Ancient Theatre and the Demirköy iron foundry. Neolithic and Chalcolithic finds from Aşağıpınar and Kanlıgeçit have their own sections. The ethnography section shows village life, local costume, handicrafts, jewellery and weapons, plus Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman coins.

According to the Ministry’s listing it opens at 08:30 and closes at 17:30 (last entry 17:00). Open every day.
